We were delighted to see our Head of ESG & Sustainability, James Thornton, speak at the #RISK conference this week as a panellist on the ESG stage. With sponsors including Capgemini and Microsoft, the conference was held at the Excel Centre in London, bringing together a broad range of professionals to discuss key risks to businesses.

Climate risks and the process of businesses adjusting to the impacts of climate change have become ever more prescient in these discussions, as James’ panel considered the role of business in delivering a climate resilient UK.

James spoke about how organisations need a business strategy founded upon an assessment of the risks and opportunities of climate change impacts. He also reflected on the things companies can do now to begin to address climate adaptation and the barriers and questions that might be raised when doing so.
