On 19th September, TSL was invited to Career Ready’s Social Mobility event hosted by CEVA Logistics at the SEGRO East Midlands Gateway.

The evening began with the opportunity for the Career Ready Interns to network with various attendees and companies. It was especially lovely to see two of the interns that joined us over the summer, Hannah and William.

Afterwards, we heard from Career Ready’s CEO Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa, who expressed how important and impactful the social mobility through the Career Ready Mentorship Programme is to these students. When we later spoke with Tokunbo, he empasised how wonderful and rewarding it is to see these student grow and thrive.

We also heard from Stuart McHarg from CEVA and Andrew Pilsworth from SEGRO, who described his experience as a mentor and how much he enjoyed it.

The panel of mentors and mentees was especially interesting to listen to as they discussed their highlights, challenges and confidence growth over the past year. It was particularly moving to hear how these students have been transformed thanks to Career Ready and its partners.

It was great to be able to provide internships at TSL this year and we hope to be able to get even more involved in the programme next year.
