Fundraising for Baby Gabriel
Twenty three members of the TSL team recently covered a huge 365 miles in just 9 hours during a charity spin cycle event. Senior Project Manager Leigh Jenkins organised the event after learning of the tragic case of Gabriel, a one year-old baby suffering from a rare heart condition known as Left Ventricle Fibroma.
Soon after birth, it became clear that Gabriel was in need of specialist treatment in the US to stand any chance of survival. However, such experimental treatment from Boston Children’s Hospital costs more than £140,000. Gabriel’s parents, Lina and Rafael, decided that the only way to fund their son’s medical costs was to reach out via a Go Fund Me page online.
After learning of this desperate situation, Leigh contacted Gabriel’s parents to inform them of TSL’s planned charity spin cycle in Crawley and were supported by a local gym, Snap 24, who secured the use of spin bikes for our team. Construction Director Patrick Cooke also organised a raffle to secure more funds and we’re delighted to say that TSL have now raised more than £6000 for young Gabriel. The best news, though, is that after a successful surgery on 8 August, Gabriel’s Father confirmed that he is recovering well. We send all our best wishes to Gabriel and his family.
