GLP Building delivered by TSL receives highest ever BREEAM score for a UK Logistics Facility

A GLP building at Magna Park South, Lutterworth, delivered by technical construction partner TSL, has received a record post-construction stage BREEAM score of 97.8%.

MPS 9 is a 388,872 sq ft logistics and distribution unit in Magna Park South with best-in-class specification. The 15m clear height warehouse will enable occupiers to maximise the use of space and light, while the 50m service yard will ease movement and parking. Fitted with an array of energy saving features, MPS 9 is 100% PV ready and WELLness compliant.

Through bi-monthly BREEAM focused meetings, TSL and GLP first achieved a design stage BREEAM score of 95.6%, before securing an even higher post-construction result. Initiatives which contributed to this score included:

  • 0% of waste sent to landfill
  • Low flush sanitary ware, reducing water consumption
  • Rainwater harvesting system
  • Sustainably procured materials
  • ADRE (Academy of Dementia Research) project, including the design and purchase of a bespoke garden room.
  • Use of low carbon cement replacement
  • Use of low heat recycled tarmac
  • Surplus earthworks material and arisings were worked back into the landscaping
  • Solar thermal water system and Solar PV system
